These words are more pertinent and relevant to our institution. Keeping this as mantra<\/em>, our institution has always stood in the forefront in envisaging and implementing novel and innovative concepts and ideas. In other words, it has been a pioneer in ushering in new schemes to realise the objectives and goals set by the founding fathers of PSG & Sons\u2019 Charities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The following are the \u201cseveral firsts\u201d<\/strong> of our school in Coimbatore:<\/p>\n

<\/i> Introduction of co-education<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/i> Employing a lady instructor in Physical Education (Mrs. Singh)<\/p>\n

<\/i> Laying Basketball court and introducing Basketball game<\/p>\n

<\/i> Introducing the scheme of \u201cHobbies for all\u201d<\/strong> (every student was made to spend two hours per week) to foster innovation and creativity<\/p>\n

<\/i> Introduction of engineering education at school level in 1948<\/p>\n

<\/i>Introducing Tamil as the medium of instruction. The government enforced Tamil as the medium of instruction throughout the state only in 1938. Even before that, the school had started teaching Chemistry in Tamil as a pioneering effort from 1929. Madam Annie Besant appreciated this effort and wrote in her \u201cNew India\u201d in praise of this<\/p>\n
